They then have to pass a background check and take a final exam. Preference is given to applicants who can tutor more than one subject. Applicants must currently live in and be eligible to work in the US or Canada. Tutor.com hires college students and college grads. They pay per hour and the amount depends on the subject(s). They also offer bonuses and performance incentives.
Work from home scoring exams including Advanced Placement, TOEFL, Praxis, LOTE, EPT and GRE exams. Scorers/Raters are responsible for evaluating written essays or short answers and spoken responses. The amount of work scorers receive depends on the time of the year, numbers of test takers and number of test administrations. Raters are trained and certified via tests.
